Sweet, cheery Anita. She was the first.
It was the Great Transformation that inspired us to make this game. Many crossover (if you can call them that) games have been made using her likeness, but none that treat her like the character she is. We always thought she should be more than just the "monster" chasing you down with no personality to her.
Well, the thought became a reality as soon as we had the creative opportunity to begin this work, and the rest was history.
Spiderface

Spiderface. Face of a spider. Body, not so much of one.
This thing brings suffering wherever it’s seen. Chains become an omen of death, a tangled web of despair that follow its every crawl.
Such as his role in Garden of Spiders, Spiderface knows exactly what he is and what he wants, and isn’t afraid to get it.
Man or beast is up for debate, but when men can be as senseless as any monster, and monsters can be just as cruel as man, that question might not be the one to focus on.
Gardens holds a special place in our hearts, as it inspired our first collaborative project together months before we considered doing something even greater.
Fiona
The idea behind Fiona even predates the Ecdysis Archives, with the core of her character having been known for some time in online forums. The videos liberated her, consumed her from the inside out and built her up to be better, stronger, wiser.
Ultimately, she was what the narrative required from her. A puppet with ideas set behind her, what she's meant to represent, but ideas aren’t sustainable enough by themselves. What is a religion with no stories to read? No teachings to follow? We could see there was more to her, just like Mother did.

Billie
Billie is not a character you can easily pin down as one thing. Like in Gardens, there's a role already set for her to fill. The films dragged her out of that box, by fate, and needed something much greater than herself. We followed that same instinct, which has been leading to something truly bizarre.
Billie is not what anyone expected, yet we learn to live with it as much as we can, and work with what it is she throws at us. Maybe there’s a sense of normalcy within her, a sense of familiarity in the midst of chaos-- if you walked into a room full of aliens you’d naturally feel more comfortable next to the one other human.
Think about why that is, and what makes the other person safe in your eyes.
Ophelia
Not many understand Ophelia the right way. It’s easy to write her off as something cheap, a story seen before in your spam folder and the surface-level assumptions that come with them. But most just don’t look deep enough. {[-p[]} knows it more than anyone else, and is the heart behind so much of what Ophelia has become.
Ophelia is darkness and sorrow, a manifestation of the fear that only pain will follow after death. That there is no peace left to rest with. Unspeakable acts can happen to those less deserving, and we understood that as we watched her develop.
